There is something always that calls us out beyond the known world, a song in the heart that yearns for journeys, a place in the heart that listens for the call.

Angsana Jubilate
Memoir of the holiday in Singapore and Bintan Island, Indonesia from 1st - 5th June 2001

Alfresco dining at the garden lawn of Chijmes was only enchanting. The lofty spire, the ceiling-high stained glass window, the throngs of candle-lit tables around the courtyard and the well-attired patronages made for quite a perfect backdrop.

The glinting lights on the wall of this 19th century white chapel allured me. They were beaming up from the bottom of the water fountain, sifting through the ripples and transcending onto the cloistered wall, glistening and twirling.

As the full moon glided through the chiaroscuro night, more captivating beauties were sure to follow.

We descended into Bintan Island, Indonesia. It is a tropical idyll of cerulean waters, white sandy beaches, where the beach is lined with coconut palms, and a dark, picturesque jungle soars from the edge of the sand into mist shrouded obscurity.

As the morning sun ray crept through the chiffon curtain and slanted onto my weary eyes, she was already splashing out in the plunge pool and shimmering in golden sunlight.

We took a stroll along the powdery white shore and chased the foamy waves swirling in from the South China Sea. Walking bare foot on the sands, soft and smooth, as if you were stepping onto Godiva chocolate.

Canoeing was the best way to explore the turquoise lagoon. Rafting through the emerald waters, occasionally we used the paddle to slap at the floating jellyfish.
Exhausted, we retired to our waterfront cabin, bathed in the breeze from the ceiling fan and dozed off in each other's arms.

At the sunset, another invigorating and sensual experience was awaiting. With soothing music and rosemary perfuming the air, at every firm and gentle stroke by the masseuse, we felt our muscles being kneaded and the tension seep away from our bodies.

Angsana is a tropical tree that blooms unpredictably several times a year.

But for her- my girl, she blooms always and she is beautiful. Her beauty is glimmering and glowing from the inside out, with plum colored aura and phenomenal elegance and kittenish quality, slow warm tranquility, sugar and light.

Thank you, my lady.
